WaveX & IICT Mumbai Launch Media Tech Startup Incubator – Apply by 7th September 2025

1. IICT Mumbai & WaveX Startup Accelerator Launch Media Tech Incubator

   • The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT Mumbai), in collaboration with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting’s WaveX platform, has launched a dedicated Media Tech Startup Incubator.

   • Focused on the AVGC-XR sector (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality), the incubator aims to nurture high-potential startups in India’s media and entertainment industry.

2. Global Tech Leaders to Mentor Indian Startups

   • Startups will receive structured mentorship from global technology leaders at Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta.

   • Guidance will cover product development, fundraising, branding, media regulations, and international scaling.

3. Government-Backed Infrastructure & Partnerships

   • Strategic partnerships with government media units will enable real-world testing, policy support, and commercialization opportunities.

   • Facilities include co-working spaces, AV/Digital labs, high-speed LAN/Wi-Fi, hosting servers, AWS & Google Cloud credits, and India AI compute services.

4. Two-Phase Startup Incubation Model

   • Active Phase: Intensive support in business modeling, pitching, fundraising, sandbox testing in OTT, VFX, VR, gaming, animation, publishing, and post-production.

   • Passive Phase: Global showcasing via Waves Bazaar, lighter mentorship, investor networking, and industry association engagement.

5. Exclusive Benefits for Selected Startups

   • 15 startups will be shortlisted in the first batch at IICT Mumbai.

   • Access to bootcamps, masterclasses, policy clinics, and investor connect sessions.

   • Program fee: ₹ 8,500 + GST per month.
